About ChineseFace: Chinese Face Reading, Explained
ChineseFace is a small, independent project that turns the Chinese face-reading tradition (面相, miàn xiàng) into something you can explore with your own photo.
Why we built it
We wanted a tool that keeps the most beautiful part of the tradition — the map of five features, three sections and twelve palaces — and lets you see it on your own face.
Our principles
- Describe only what is visible in the photo, in plain words.
- Keep the tradition separate, clearly labelled, and paraphrased — never fake “ancient quotes”.
- Adults only, your own photo only, and a delete button that really deletes.
How AI is used
An AI vision model checks your photo and describes visible features using a fixed vocabulary. Every cultural explanation comes from our own reviewed knowledge base, not from the AI. Read the full methodology.
